Anthony Tran – Black Belt – Owner /Head Adults Instructor

Anthony is the Head Instructor and owner of Canvas Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. Holding Black Belts in not only Brazilian Jiu Jitsu but also in Shotokan Japanese Karate & Okinawan Shorin Ryu Karate, martial arts has always been part of his life. Anthony has also studied various other styles and has over 10 years worth of teaching experience with all ages from kids to adults. He’s also had the opportunity to train in 30 different countries and all over the United States – bringing home knowledge from across the globe to his students.

Jocelyn Chang – 4th Degree Black Belt – Women’s Instructor

Our Women’s Program Instructor – Jocelyn has been training Brazilian Jiu Jitsu for over two decades. She is Black Belt under Leka Vieira and at 4’9” she is the tiniest Black Belt in the world. She is the 8th women to get her BJJ Black Belt outside of Brazil.

Erick Rubio – Black Belt – No Gi Instructor

Coach Erick has been training for 7 years with experience in both Gi and No Gi competitions. Erick is considered a technical grappler that blends new and old school styles that utilize movement, precision, and position over force and power.

Kevin Lee – Black Belt – Adults Instructor

Kevin started his Jiu Jitsu journey over 10 years ago. With the understanding early on that being on the bottom has more weapons, he developed his game concentrating on guard activity. He believes that humility/discipline followed by solid fundamentals is what every practitioner should strive to keep through their Jiu Jitsu journey. 

Ernie Gonzalez – Purple Belt – White Belt Program Instructor

Ernie has studied Brazilian Jiu Jitsu for many years across multiple academies. He currently leads our White Belt program on Saturdays that focuses on the basics of BJJ. His classes allow a comfortable atmosphere for beginners to learn the basic mechanics, terminology, and etiquette of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. 

Keziah Nuñez – Brown Belt – Head Kids Instructor

Keziah is a 19-year old brown belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and has been training for 8 years. She has competed since she started training and has won multiple super fights, as well as holding a 1-0 record in amateur MMA. Not only has she competed, she also has 4 years of experience teaching Brazilian Jiu Jitsu to kids of various ages. She’s patient with kids, a very detailed instructor, and ensures that every child in class is always involved and engaged. 

Evan Cooper – Brown Belt – Adults Instructor

Evan started training in 2011 back home in Indiana in BJJ, wrestling, and MMA. Holding a record of 3-1 in amateur MMA, he trained in multiple countries and always loves dropping into new schools whenever he travels for work. Evan works to blend old school pressure with innovative new techniques, approaching BJJ from an engineer’s perspective.
